best weekend ever.

okay, so let’s be real — college can get exhausting. 

in fact, for me, it was pretty exhausting last year [junior year]. however, this year, I’ve found some great reasons to escape the hallowed halls of dormitories and even the pages of textbooks. well, that’s a lie. I still have to do that. but in order to make my life alllll that much better — I’ve been soaking it [shamelessly] in music — possibly my favorite subject matter - [sorry, mass media law].

so with this comes my expansion of what was already a slightly-addictive youtube obsession. don’t get the wrong idea - I still do homework - but only after my daily dose of tunes.

well gee, allea, what could you possibly listen to day after day? well, friends, let me introduce you to one of my latest youtube favorites: tyler ward :)

he’s often does covers, but also has original songs. he collaborates with other peeps: julia sheer for one, is fantastic! however, to get the best idea about who these folks are, you have to check out tyler’s youtube page. fun fact: he has more youtube subscribers than president barack obama!

ultimately, I have a ton of respect for these guys/julia. not just because they’re great, but also becasue they have a ton of fun filming and recording these songs. in addition, I love the cleanliness of the songs - when they jazz them up or slow them down from the original tempos, they often leave out the not so G-rated words. I love them for that. did I mention they are full of talent? I guess you could just watch a clip. they’re oozing it :)

well, I got to meet them this weekend. I drove 3 hours to Manhattan, Kansas, from Lincoln, Nebraska. And it was everything worth it and more! they are total heartbreakers - sweet, humble, scene-stealers, and my wannabe best friends…

so tyler? julia? would you like to please be my long-distance friends?
